About Ian

If you think conductors are stuffy and unapproachable, Ian Passmore will change your mind. Newly appointed Music Director of the Oak Ridge Symphony Orchestra, he's equally at home leading Rachmaninoff in the concert hall and conducting performances on the Undertale and World of Warcraft World Tours. Trained as the final student of legendary pedagogue David Effron and hailed as "a rising young conductor" by Fanfare magazine, Ian's mission is as straightforward as it is ambitious: to make classical music relevant, accessible, and irresistible — for audiences of every age and background.
